Delete your account and data

This page explains how to delete your account and data for the Sarıl: Kişisel Bakım Arkadaşın (Sarıl: Your Self-Care Buddy) app (developer: Emre Yalçın). You can do it any time, no questions asked.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open Sarıl and go to Settings.
  2. In the Account & backup card, tap "Delete account and backup".
  3. Confirm with "Yes, delete". Your backup and account are deleted right away.

To also remove everything on your phone: Settings → Privacy → "Delete my data". If you used Together, your Together account is deleted in the app too: Settings → Together account → "Delete Together account". The app deletes everything step by step; if the connection drops it shows an error, and when you try again it picks up where it left off.

If the app is no longer on your phone

  1. From the email address linked to your account, write to support@saril.app.
  2. Use the subject "Account deletion".
  3. We delete your account and data within 30 days and let you know.

Delete only your data, keep the account

  • Data on your phone: Settings → Privacy → "Delete my data". If you use it while signed in, your backup and account are deleted too.
  • To keep your account and delete only the backup on our server: this isn't a separate option in the app. Write to support@saril.app with the subject "Backup deletion"; we delete it within 30 days.
  • Signing out does not delete the backup.

What gets deleted?

  • Your cloud backup: your friend, steps, level, items, mood entries and writing.
  • Your Together data (if you used it): your membership and check marks in shared steps (a step is deleted if you're its last member), pending invitations you sent and received, friendships and your friend counter, friend requests, good wishes you sent and received, your own reports, your block list, profile photo, friend code and profile.
  • Your sign-in account: your Google account ID and email address.

What is kept?

  • Nothing of your data is kept on our server; it is also removed from Google's backups within 180 days at the latest.
  • If you reported a step's name or a photo in Together, only a marker of that report (your random user ID) stays to keep the content hidden, until that name or photo is changed or removed. Your report records are deleted with your account.
  • Support emails you sent us are kept for up to 2 years after your request is closed (Privacy Notice).
  • Your subscription isn't cancelled; cancel it separately in the store.
