Together Consent Annex: International Transfer

Version 1.0 · Effective: 4 October 2026

  • Version: 1.0
  • Effective date: 4 October 2026
  • Controller: Emre Yalçın, Yalı Caddesi No: 8, Atakum, Samsun, Türkiye, support@saril.app

This text is separate from the Privacy Annex for Together and Profile Photos and from the Terms of Use. It asks for optional consent on one thing only: processing your Together information on servers outside your country.

1. What this consent covers

If you turn on Together, the following is sent to Google's Firebase service, to a data center in Europe, and stored there:

  • your sign-in account (random user ID, sign-in provider, and the email address held by the sign-in service);
  • your profile (companion name and kind, level and stage, friend code, whether you took a step today);
  • your friendships, requests and the people you block;
  • your shared steps' names, schedules, members, invitations and daily check marks;
  • the ready-made kind wishes you send;
  • your optional profile photo (256×256 pixels);
  • the reports you make;
  • the result of checking your Premium subscription.

Google's support and security teams may access this information from other countries, including the United States. For users in Türkiye the data center itself is abroad. This is an international transfer of personal data (KVKK Art. 9; for the EU/EEA/UK, see the Privacy Annex, section 7).

Not covered: your own steps, mood entries, answers to the question of the day, letters, nicknames and settings. They never leave your phone.

2. Recipient and purpose

  • Recipient: Google LLC (USA) and Google Ireland Limited (Ireland), processing Firebase services on our behalf and on our instructions.
  • Purpose: running Together: showing shared steps, kind wishes and your profile to your friends, and applying the Premium member limit correctly.
  • Google does not use this information for ads, and we never sell it.

3. Consent is optional

  • You don't have to consent.
  • Without consent you can't turn on Together, and nothing leaves your phone. Your companion, steps, mood, breathing, focus, letters and the rest of Sarıl work as usual.
  • The box is never pre-ticked. This consent is separate from accepting the Terms of Use: you can accept the Terms without giving it.

4. Withdrawing consent

  • You can withdraw at any time: Settings → Privacy → Together: transfer abroad.
  • When you withdraw, you are signed out of your Together account, Together closes and no new information is sent to the server.
  • Withdrawing does not delete your server data by itself. To delete it, use Settings → Together account → Delete account: your data is removed from the server immediately and from Google's backups within 180 days at the latest (Privacy Annex, section 9). If you don't delete it, it is kept according to the retention periods in the Privacy Annex.
  • Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of transfers made before it.
  • Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.

5. Record

When you consent, the date and the version of this text are stored on your phone. If this text changes materially (for example a new recipient or a new type of data), we will ask for your consent again.

6. Age

If you are between 16 and 18, please talk to a parent or guardian before giving this consent.

7. Your rights

Your rights and how to use them are in section 14 of the Privacy Notice. Questions: support@saril.app.

8. Declaration

I have read the Together Consent Annex. I consent to my Together information (my sign-in account, profile, friendships, shared steps and check marks, kind wishes, optional profile photo, reports and Premium check result) being transferred to Google's Firebase service in a data center in Europe for running Together, and to Google being able to access it from abroad, including the United States. I know I can withdraw this consent at any time under Settings → Privacy, that withdrawing signs me out, and that I can have my server data deleted separately by deleting my Together account.

Checkbox in the app (never pre-ticked):

  • First launch (screen 17): at the last welcome step, as a separate checkbox above the Terms of Use line. Accepting the Terms does not mean giving this consent.
  • Later: if you didn't tick it at first launch, the same checkbox appears the first time you open Together. If this text's version changes, the checkbox appears again when you open Together.

☐ If I use Together, I consent to the info I share with friends being stored on Google infrastructure on a server in Europe and being accessible from abroad.

Optional; only needed for Together. Your personal steps, mood and writing are never shared. If you add a profile photo, anyone with your friend code can see it.
